“Throughout my time as a doctoral student and post-doctoral researcher, it was always the interface between basic and applied research in the field of conventional biotechnology and molecular biology that fascinated me most. For instance, my doctoral work dealt with plant viruses that were integrated into hybrid materials as innovative self-assembling nanodevices. For the project planning and implementation of this, I worked in an interdisciplinary team of chemists and physicists. My post-doctorate work also focussed on cooperation with various regional and international partners. In addition, I continued training in the GMP-regulated environment, which means I have an excellent grasp of the standard guidelines and tools involved in quality and project management. I started working at BioRegio STERN Management GmbH as a project manager in October 2018, where I assist the team in implementing EU development projects. What I find particularly interesting in this context is the EU-wide networking of SMEs from the life sciences sector and the development of new technologies.”

"After studying Medical Engineering in Stuttgart and Tübingen and completing my Master’s in Biomedical Technologies at the University of Tübingen, I gained experience in translational research, experimental oncology, and microfluidic medical technology. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was involved in a large-scale diagnostic project, conducting PCR testing for the entire southwest of Germany. Additionally, I worked in clinical diagnostics and in various life sciences companies.
Since 2025, I have been strengthening BioRegio STERN Management GmbH as a Project Manager. My focus is on connecting medical technology companies with clinical users, driven by my strong commitment to fostering close collaboration between science and industry. In this interdisciplinary environment, engineers, biologists, physicists, and physicians work together to develop solutions that would not emerge individually."

After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Biotechnology and my international Master’s degree in Food Biotechnology, I pursued a Ph.D. in Bioprocess Engineering at the University of Hohenheim. During my doctoral research, I focused intensively on the production of animal-like proteins, such as casein, using various microorganisms. This work provided me with extensive experience in molecular biology, microbiology, and biotechnology. Through my involvement in various national and international projects, I gained valuable insights into the biotech and life sciences industry.
During my internships at Bitburger Braugruppe in Bitburg and the former LSG Sky Chefs GmbH in Munich, I demonstrated my organizational skills in a dynamic environment and further developed my passion for creative solutions and new challenges.
Since 2025, I have been working as an International Project Manager at BioRegio STERN Management GmbH, contributing to various EU projects.

My academic training in the life sciences, including research stages in Germany and the United States, has shaped my strong interest in the interface between research, application, and knowledge transfer. I gained hands-on experience in technology transfer at Leibniz University Hannover, with a particular emphasis on supporting patenting and commercialization processes. After completing my master’s thesis with a focus on chemical engineering and molecular biology at Northeastern University in Boston, I pursued my doctoral studies at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology in Würzburg. To further strengthen my interdisciplinary skill set, I completed additional training in life science management, thereby deepening my expertise in project planning, business fundamentals, and regulatory affairs. Since January 2026, I have been working at BioRegio STERN in project management and technology transfer, advising start-up initiatives and coordinating the Science2Start idea competition.
