Market analysis service for developers of companion diagnostics

As part of the Interreg project Codex 4 SMEs (Companion Diagnostics expedited for small and medium-sized enterprises), an information web seminar on the free market analysis service for developers of companion diagnostics took place on January 21, 2021.

Marieke Huis in ‘t Veld from BOM Holding BV (Technologieförderung Brabantse Ontwik-kelings Maatschappij) moderated the event and Ingrid Relou, expert for market analyses from the LifeTec-ZONe cluster, explained the advantages of a market analysis for developers of accompanying diagnostics. This offer was very well received by the participants from the various partner regions. Interested companies can contact Marieke Huis in ‘t Veld directly at mhuisintveld@bom.nl.

To illustrate the usability of a market analysis, Relou explained the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic on various medical applications. Cardiovascular interventions decreased drastically in 2020 due to the pandemic, while telemedical applications increased many times over in the same time. She currently sees opportunities in the use of robotic surgery, which significantly reduces the risk of infections during operations.

Han van 't Kloster, CEO at PharmaCytics (Netherlands) and Cédric Meyer, Chief customer officer at SURICOG (France) also presented the main products of their two companies. PharmaCytics has developed a technology for the enhancement of drug bioavailability that can improve drug effectiveness and reduce side effects. SURICOG offers an eye tracker that captures and localizes microscopic eye movements to gain insight into the activity of the brain. The technology is particularly interesting for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.

The Interreg project Codex4SMEs aims to improve health care in North-West Europe and beyond through the increasing introduction of personalized medicine. Personalized medicine promises "the right drug, in the right dose, at the right time, for the right patient" and can thus generate savings in the healthcare sector. A total of nine partners and two sub-partners work together under the direction of STERN BioRegion. We will provide the B2match platform for networking free of charge until September 30, 2021. On this matchmaking platform for personalized medicine you can upload your profile in order to make new contacts with other participants.
