At the end of 2002, the Baden-Württemberg government established BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH as a wholly owned affiliate for the promotion of biotechnology in the state. The 14-person team under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ralf Kindervater provides support to research institutions and companies in the following topics: bioeconomy, biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry and medical technology (healthcare industry).

As Baden-Württemberg’s central point of contact for business development issues, it is the task of BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH to optimally position the strengths of this leading location on a national and international level at the same time as developing the location to ensure future sustainability. Specific business promotion measures help to secure know-how and jobs in the state as well as transferring the huge potential of innovative research to industrial applications. BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH’s broad public relations work involves the dissemination of information about this highly innovative cross-sectional technology.
