Landmark biotech region to undergo further systematic expansion

HR news - Dr. Klaus Eichenberg extends contract as Managing Director of BioRegio STERN Management GmbH

The Supervisory Board of BioRegio STERN Management GmbH has approved the reappointment of Dr. Klaus Eichenberg (48) as Managing Director for a further five years. Chaired by Dr. Walter Rogg, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH, the Supervisory Board was unanimous in expressing its utmost confidence in Dr. Eichenberg.

Dr. Klaus Eichenberg has headed BioRegio STERN Management GmbH since 2004. He works with his team to assist and promote life science companies in the public interest in the Stuttgart and Neckar-Alb regions and the cities of Stuttgart, Tübingen, Esslingen and Reutlingen. As Managing Director, Dr. Eichenberg - a certified investment analyst - provides support for the economic interests of new business founders, entrepreneurs and researchers in one of Germany´s largest biotech regions. He is also a molecular and cell biologist and spokesman for the working group of Germany´s biotechnology regions.

BioRegio STERN´s "Engineering - Life Sciences - Automation" (ELSA) cluster initiative successfully promotes closer ties between the life sciences and engineer-driven industries. The joint initiative "Germany - Land of Ideas" by the worlds of politics and business recently selected the ELSA business network as one of the 100 best "Landmarks". In 2015, the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis ESCA awarded BioRegio STERN the Silver Label in recognition of its successes as a cluster management organisation.

The continued success of biotech business development is also demonstrated by a recent flotation and increasingly significant investments by and in companies from the region. "I am delighted at this show of trust in me and will continue to focus all my efforts on the sustained development of this biotech region and its position among the leading international players."
