AI and 3D printing are shaping the future of medical technology

BioRegio STERN Management GmbH, partner in the EU S3martMed development project, hosted an international innovation workshop titled "S3martMed needs SmartTech". In live operations at the Institute of Clinical Anatomy and Cell Analysis in Tübingen, participants gained authentic insights into medical needs. The entrepreneurs from Europe and Japan also saw how artificial intelligence (AI) and 3D printing are set to transform medical Technology and were able to forge international links for relevant collaboration projects funded as part of S3martMed.

About the EU S3martMed development project
Five cluster partners from France (Lyonbiopole, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes), Belgium (Biowin, Wallonia), Poland (GAPR-Medsilesia, Upper Silesia), Italy (BioPmed, Piemont) and Germany (BioRegio STERN, Baden-Württemberg) make up the EU S3martMed development project. They are active members of the S3 industrialisation platform set up by the European Commission to identify regional strengths in various sectors - such as medical technology - and foster cooperation between different European regions. The aim is to use the platform to initiate partnerships between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and technology centres under the S3martMed project so as to promote sustainable growth and targeted investments.
