International Centre for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities (IZEW)

The IZEW is an interdisciplinary research centre at the University of Tübingen that explores ethical problems arising from the sciences and humanities.

For 25 years, the IZEW has worked successfully on a wide range of ethical topics. The IZEW aims to conduct research in cooperation with scholars of different disciplines and promotes the advancement of the next generation of researchers in the field of ethics within the sciences and humanities. Another point of focus is the transfer of research results to the area of education and the coordination of research networks on ethical topics. The IZEW maintains one of the largest ethical libraries in Europe. The directors of the IZEW are Prof. Dr. Regina Ammicht Quinn und Prof. Dr. Thomas Potthast.
