Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ) was established in 1990 on the initiative of the then Commissioner for Europe of the Baden-Württemberg Minister of Economic Affairs. It offers support to small- and medium-sized companies, universities and research institutions in Baden-Württemberg relating to European research programmes and technology cooperations. With offices in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, SEZ provides support in the selection of funding programmes, the preparation of funding applications and the carrying out of cross-border projects including the search for suitable partners, project management, technology transfer and the development of innovation strategies.
The Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum is the regional contact for small- and medium-sized companies in Baden-Württemberg on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Baden-Württemberg and a contact point for universities of applied sciences on behalf of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg.
Steinbeis 2i GmbH (S2i) was founded in 2016 as a spin-off company of Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum of Steinbeis Innovation gGmbH. S2i is committed to helping companies and universities to innovate and internationalise. S2i remains closely linked to the Commissioner for Europe but at the same time has the opportunity to diversify its service portfolio.
