The Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences offers numerous bachelor’s and master’s degree courses in a broad range of technical disciplines. Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences attaches great importance to studying and teaching in small groups, working closely with professors and clearly structured study contents. Students are given the opportunity to get acquainted with the professional world and are encouraged to make contact with potential future employers. Lecturers from industry and business as well as the advisory boards involved in course development provide the students with practical information. The Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences works in partnership with more than 50 universities in Germany and abroad and offers students the opportunity to do practical semesters abroad and gain valuable experience. The University has around 100 professors, 150 lecturers and approximately 2600 students.

Research at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences is mainly focused on building physics, geoinformatics and technomathematics. Research activities are all housed in the Joseph von Egle Institute, which is one of the most renowned German institutes of applied research and development in the fields of building acoustics, thermal insulation, thermal building physics and the use of solar energy. In addition, the "Centre for Applied Research – Sustainable Energy Technology" (zafh.net) is part of the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, where five Baden-Württemberg universities of applied sciences combine their research skills in the development of "intelligent buildings", with the aim of reducing the use of fossil fuels in heating and air-conditioning systems. The Centre for Building Physics is also part of the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, where a hall containing a broad range of measurement and test plants is among the most modern of its kind in Europe.
