05.12.2014 Biomat IN roadshows in Maastricht and Lille

From November 3rd to 5th 2014 representatives of STERN BioRegion, Eurasanté, Nottingham Trent University, MediLink East Midlands and NV Industriebank LIOF met within the framework of the EU-program Biomat-IN in Maastricht to visit various companies and institutions on site and identifyied common interests. The international group of experts visited the company Chemelot InSCiTe, ABS Applied Biomedical Systems, Scannexus and Xilloc Medical as well as the Brightlands Chemelot Campus and the Bright Lands Maastricht Health Campus.

On December 4th a second roadshow took place in Lille, France, at the European Center of Innovative Textiles, the cousin Biotech Company and the Macopharma Company as well as the Eurasanté Park.

Dr. Margot Jehle, Biomat-IN-manager at BioRegio STERN Management GmbH, explains that the roadshow was rewarding because "it has opened the personal contact and exchange with the entrepreneurs on site and offered interesting starting points for the companies and institutes in STERN BioRegion. We will intensify these first contacts to initiate future German-Dutch projects within our network."

The project Biomat -IN started on 01.05.2010 and will end on 31.03.2015. In the project period of almost five years six vouchers were awarded to SMEs from the five partner regions and nine events with the focus of biomaterials were organized. The final event of the project is expected to take place in February 2015. In the STERN BioRegion collaborations were initiated between the English company Wollaton and the Reutlingen Institute NMI as a service provider and between InnoCyte GmbH in Stuttgart GmbH as a voucher recipient and the Dutch company PharmaCell.
