PhD student in Immunotherapy and Molecular Imaging (f/m/d)
The Department of Preclinical Imaging and Radiopharmacy (Director Prof. Bernd Pichler) of the University Hospital Tübingen, an internationally renowned group at the forefront of preclinical imaging research recognized for its scientific excellence and unique state-of-the-art infrastructure, is offering a position for a PhD position in “Virus and Checkpoint inhibitor-based Cancer Immunotherapy and PET/MRI guided monitoring of in vivo immune responses” (f/m/d) 65%.
The position is initially limited to one year with the possibility of further extension.
With this project, we aim to elucidate the mechanisms of the immune cells that successfully eradicate tumor cells upon combined Immunotherapy approaches. By developing an innovative state of the art preclinical imaging approach based on combined PET/MR imaging of immune responses, the successful candidate will shed a new light on the tumor microenvironment.
The candidate should ideally possess scientific expertise in immunology, molecular biology/medicine, or biochemistry demonstrated by a relevant Master of Science in the field and a keen interest in preclinical imaging sciences. Hands on experience with preclinical PET, MRI or CT imaging is a plus but not a requirement. Knowledge of tumor immunology and working with small animals, especially in vivo models of diseases, are considered beneficial.
