PhD position in “preclinical imaging of senescence during inflammation” (f/m/d) 65%

The position is initially limited to one year with the possibility of further extension.
With this project, we aim at elucidating the role of senescent cells in sterile chronic inflammation, in particular during rheumatoid arthritis. By developing an innovative state of the art preclinical imaging approach based on combined PET/CT and PET/MR imaging of senescence, the successful candidate will shed a new light on inflammatory diseases. We fully expect that this work will contribute to the establishment of clinically translatable multimodal diagnosis and therapy monitoring imaging techniques.

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated candidates, eager to answer highly relevant biomedical questions and evolve in a multidisciplinary environment notably using state of the art imaging techniques. The candidate should ideally possess scientific expertise in inflammation, cellular biology, or biochemistry demonstrated by a relevant Master of Science in the field and a keen interest in preclinical imaging sciences. Hands on experience with preclinical PET, MRI or CT imaging is a plus but not a requirement. As the project is a collaboration with Stanford University, fluency in English is a requirement.
