CeCaVa, a biopharmaceutical immuno-oncology company based in Tübingen (Germany) currently preparing to conduct first clinical trials, is searching for an experienced

Bioinformatician (f/m/d)

in full time. CeCaVa is developing personalized cancer vaccines derived from tumor-specific mutations leading to the formation of neoepitopes. The candidate will be responsible to analyze biomedical data and to refine and develop state of the art computational algorithms to predict and select tumor-specific neoepitopes.

Your field of responsibility

  • Development of machine learning models and analysis pipelines for the identification of neoepitopes and their validation
  • Implement and maintain the core bioinformatic pipeline for NGS analysis and neoepitope prediction
  • Carrying out data collection/management tasks and statistical analysis of biomedical data
  • Strengthen the bioinformatics unit of the company and work within an interdisciplinary team as well as with academic and industry partners

Our expectations

  • PhD, MSc or equivalent relevant experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or related subjects – industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent programming skills and experience in advanced data analytics (proficiency in Python and R)
  • Experience in construction of in silico pipelines and workflows
  • Knowledge and proven hands-on experience in conceptualizing, developing, and benchmarking machine learning models is a plus
  • Expertise in programming and running workflows for NGS, mutation, and gene expression analysis
  • Solid understanding of statistics and its use for analysis and visualization of biomedical data is mandatory
  • Ideally basic knowledge in oncology, immunology, or immuno-oncology
  • An established track record of productivity is desirable (publications, patents, or similar)
  • Enthusiastic team player with excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills (incl. good working knowledge of English), proven independent working style and problem-solving skills
