Focus
Service facility for the generation of transgenic animal models
Company Profile
The Tübingen Transgenic Facility focuses on the generation of transgenic animal models with the aim of gaining insights into human hereditary diseases. Transgenic rats and mice are produced by injecting DNA into the pronucleus of zygotes and by the specific manipulation of genes in embryonic stem cells. The service laboratory also provides a service that generates knock-out and knock-in mice through the injection of embryonic stem cells into blastocysts.
The facility’s services are complemented by planning advice and support for the production of genetically modified embryonic stem cell lines (knock-out and knock-in embryonic stem cell lines) as well in the planning of projects, including the preparation of applications for use with experimental animals.
