Our partner BIOPRO

BioRegio STERN Management GmbH provides a regional platform for biotechnology. Its specifically regional activities and those of its sister organisations from other biotechnology regions in Baden-Württemberg are supported by BIOPRO.

BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH was founded at the beginning of 2003 to strengthen Baden-Württemberg’s position as an area of scientific and economic excellence in the field of biotechnology. The key methods employed include state-wide business development and international location marketing.
What’s more, BIOPRO expands on the information that the BioRegion partners provide. Every month, Baden-Württemberg’s biotechnology regions provide articles on a key topic from the field of biotechnology/life sciences at www.bio-pro.de, together with profiles of innovative biotech companies and outstanding researchers. The Internet portal also provides detailed information focusing on business, science and society.
The well-structured network of partners with regional and supra-regional responsibility has helped ensure that the biotech research landscape in Baden-Württemberg has developed into one of the most efficient and versatile in the whole of Europe.

Our partner bwcon

bwcon stands for Baden-Württemberg: Connected e.V. The company demonstrates its commitment to the task it has set itself with a comprehensive package of information and networking services for all interested parties. A business initiative for businesses, bwcon is privately financed. Most of its 400 plus members are companies, but individuals, universities and research institutes are also represented.
bwcon promotes strategic technologies with a life science emphasis. As stated in its Articles of Incorporation, bwcon’s ambitious objective is to create “Europe’s strongest multitechnology business network”.
Since September 2005, there has been a dedicated section for life sciences and health. The aim is to get companies in the health sector to network among themselves and also with players from other fields of technology. BioRegio STERN Management GmbH is a partner of this newly created section and supports its initiatives.

Our partner PUSH!

PUSH! is a partner network for new companies founded by academics from Stuttgart universities.
The partners provide concrete assistance and training to help young academics set up new businesses. The “Virtual Academy” provides a summary of training and qualifications currently on offer in the Stuttgart region for young entrepreneurs and those interested in founding companies.
PUSH! is located at the WRS, the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation and is subsidised by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). PUSH! campus agencies go directly to universities and establish themselves in the university startup centres to provide academics wishing to go into business with first-hand information, assistance and long-term support.
PUSH! and BioRegio STERN use joint network activities to promote cooperation between universities and integrate university startups into the regional economy.

Our partner MITT – Centre of Competence for Minimally Invasive Medicine & Technology Tübingen-Tuttlingen

The MITT is a non-profit-making organisation supported by funds from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the State of Baden-Württemberg. By means of consultancy and information services, it encourages knowledge transfer between scientific, handicraft and industrial undertakings in order to strengthen Germany as a location for first-rate medical technology.
The centre’s staff oversee projects, geared for example to developing new instruments or methods, provide details of potential investors and work on obtaining funding. If required, expert consultants supervise projects from start to finish, including financial controlling. The consultancy input also includes research and market analyses on medtech issues and assistance with licensing matters.
The MITT is ideally located close to the numerous medtech companies and institutes in the STERN BioRegion. However, its services are not restricted to the core area between Tübingen and Tuttlingen, but are available across different disciplines and regions to all interested parties from research and industry.
