Patent Information Centre

The spectrum of services offered by the Patent Information Centre ranges from the provision of comprehensive neutral information up to qualified consultation. Modern workstations with access to up-to-date property rights databases are available for visitors’ use. The centre’s staff offers support to users looking for patents, utility models, brands and industrial designs. These services are complemented by contract searches in chargeable databases and delivery services for property rights documents.

In addition to initial consultation, the centre also offers short weekly consultations on all industrial property rights free of charge and in cooperation with patent attorneys from the region.

Regular talks, patent research seminars and workshops and the "Tag der gewerblichen Schutzrechte" conference provide both first-time users and experts with useful information and training.

On behalf of the German Patent Office, the centre accepts patent, utility model, brand and industrial design applications as well as European and international patent applications in due time.

The centre is a useful point of contact in Baden-Württemberg for SMEs and scientific institutions that are new to industrial property rights or for start-up companies looking for a company name.
