PANATecs - the „One-Stop Shop“ for Bioanalyses

Products and services are the basis of PANATECs GmbH’s business idea: peptides and antibodies and a comprehensive range of services – from immunological and biochemical analyses up to the management of entire projects.

The University of Tübingen once again proved to be a successful incubator: PANATecs GmbH was spun out of the University in August 2004. The founders have a great deal of experience and current knowledge in the fields of immunology, biochemistry, mass spectrometry, rheumatology and nephrology.

Based on the promising combination of these fields, the new company has developed its two core competences: PANATecs synthesises peptides to all desired specifications and it manufactures polyclonal antibodies. However, the company does not just follow the rigid schema of “order, deliver, all over”. The PANATecs team attaches great importance to effective support. This involves the comprehensive consultation of the client before purchase and expert support after delivery.

The service philosophy encompassing all round pre-, during and after sales support also shapes the second business activity of the company. PANATecs regards itself as a platform for any mass spectrometric task. Depending on the mandate, the work will be carried out with internal resources or outsourced to competent partners. PANATecs cooperates with a network of specialists in order to seek optimal solutions– even for the most difficult requests.

For the client it is important to receive all services from one source and have PANATecs supervise entire projects – from protein analysis to immunological compatibility studies.

The company services a growing number of research institutions, both from university as well as private and commercial research institutions (e.g. in the field of drug research).

PANATecs GmbH’s business model also convinced the reviewers in the renowned Baden-Württemberg StartUp business plan competition. The company was awarded second prize in the 2004/2005 competition. With this award, PANATecs belongs to the group of the “best five” new and innovative companies in Baden-Württemberg presented and honoured in April 2005.

The company team sees this as a good omen and can, in view of the growing demand for bioanalytics products and services, look to the future with optimism. Biopharmaceuticals will play a major role in the pharmaceutical market in the development of bioanalytics products and services. Comprehensive analyses required for the development and production of protein-based drugs, are a flourishing market for PANATecs’ products and services.
