ifex Initiative für Existenzgründungen und Unternehmensnachfolge

The Baden-Württemberg government sees the promotion of company foundation and the securing of company successions as central issues in its small- and medium-sized businesses policy. In 2001, the Baden-Württemberg parliament decided on the permanent continuity of the Initiative for Start-Ups and Business Transfer (ifex) following the recommendation of the "Mittelstand" survey committee. ifex has been run by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs since 1st July 2004 and is part of the "Start-up and Business Transfer / ifex" division (no. 33). ifex has a network of approximately 1400 institutions, chambers, associations, business development organisations, universities, schools, authorities and representatives from private companies. These cooperation partners and their innovative ideas contribute to the new company foundation culture. ifex has developed diversified information, qualification and consultation services. ifex initiates state-wide campaigns and competitions, new ways of assistance and concerted actions. Projects and partners are coordinated on the regional as well as international levels. In addition, ifex also supports information, qualification, consultation, coaching and target-group specific model projects and regional projects being carried out by partner organisations.
