Channelling experience and optimism for company founders and entrepreneurs

15.04.2008 Channelling experience and optimism for company founders and entrepreneurs

The team at BioRegio STERN Management GmbH has grown once again. Biochemist Dr. Kathrin Ballesteros Katemann from Cologne, where she was latterly a Member of the Board at BioCologne, moved to Stuttgart on 1 April 2008.

Dr. Ballesteros Katemann has acquired her in-depth knowledge of the biotechnology sector over many years and has wide-ranging experience in dealing with start-ups and fledgling companies. In the view of BioRegio STERN Managing Director Dr. Klaus Eichenberg, she is therefore the ideal candidate to fill the role of project manager – a position which in future will focus on company founders and entrepreneurs in the life science sector. Dr. Ballesteros Katemann is firmly convinced both by the potential in the region and the exciting prospects of her new post: "New ideas and technologies have always fascinated me and I would like to help successfully develop them."

Following her degree in biochemistry at Ruhr-Universität Bochum and her doctoral thesis at the Chair for Neurobiochemistry, Dr. Ballesteros Katemann trained as a life science project developer. She subsequently worked at a management consultancy specialising in this sector before going on to provide support in marketing, customer acquisition and PR for the BioCampus Cologne biotechnology park. 34-year-old Dr. Ballesteros Katemann latterly represented the sector’s interests in the Cologne region as a Member of the Board at BioCologne.
