Company Profile
The company began life in 1989 as BITEC, a production division of Gewürzmüller, in the form of a new plant for starter culture production. In 2005, the production division was hived off to form BLESSING Biotech GmbH and has since operated as an independent company. In October 2007, Frutarom Industries Ltd. (Israel) signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the share capital of the German companies Gewuerzmueller GmbH and Blessing Biotech GmbH in consideration for a cash payment of US$ 67 million (Euro 47.3 million).

BLESSING Biotech has a comprehensive gene bank of lactic acid bacteria from which customers can assemble their products using their own formula.
