Company Profile
Baden-Württemberg International was established in 1984 as the ”Baden-Württemberg Export Foundation ”(Exportstiftung Baden-Württemberg) in order to provide support to small- and medium-sized enterprises for foreign market entry. In 2004, in addition to developing and working with international business contacts, setting up and dealing with international projects, marketing the region as a business hub, and encouraging companies to locate in the area, bw-i broadened its focus to include science, research and the arts at the same time as changing its name to Baden-Württemberg International.
Baden-Württemberg International’s activities include initiating international cooperation through programmes aimed at penetrating key markets across the globe. bw-i also promotes Baden-Württemberg as a business, education, and research centre – both at home and abroad. In addition, bw-i offers advice and assistance to foreign companies wishing to invest in Baden-Württemberg and organises projects in selected countries. Baden-Württemberg International is also the central contact for companies in Germany and abroad.
The mission of Baden-Württemberg International is to optimally position Baden-Württemberg in a globally competitive market as a location for business and research and to promote the opening of foreign markets for enterprises from within the state.
