Synergies are required – synergies between biotechnology and medical technology. Medical technology is traditionally strong in Germany, providing more jobs than the pharmaceuticals industry. Medical technology is now faced with new challenges which it can tackle with the help of the innovation-driven biotech sector.
Obstacles are there to be overcome. With its “Thinking business forward” strategy, BioRegio STERN encourages dialogue between biotech and medtech players. Joint meetings and discussions are organized, studies are set up and cooperation arrangements initiated. The aim is to identify and make the best possible use of synergies. This should enable both sectors not only to open up new markets but also to become the international market leaders.
